Project: Nova

The new ZZ4 and Hooker Pro-Comp headers fit comfortably with factory air conditioning.

This is the Nova staging at Piedmont Drag way (1/8 Mile).

The newly mounted fiber glass hood.

Traction Bar.

3 inch exhaust cut-out.

Sub-frame connector.

New rear end, leaf springs, and exhaust.

Oil pressure, coolant temperature, air/ fuel mixture gauge. The air fuel gauge is an exceptionally useful tool that takes the guess work out of carburetor tuning.

Steering column mounted tachometer.

Fuel pressure gauge.

Fittings and fuel line for fuel pressure gauge.

Lift off hood makes engine bay much more accessible.

Hooker Super-Comp Headers allow access to all spark plugs while still clearing the factory a/c housing.

600 CFM Edelbrock Performer Series carburetor with customized metering rods tuned with air/fuel meter.

Michelin 225/60/R15

Current Form.

The rust in the trunk was ground and treated with Naval Jelly.  Herculiner was then applied to ensure a moisture and wear proof barrier.

The newly installed nitrous bottle and plumbing.

The nitrous line was run along with the existing fuel line.  Fuel hose was used as insulation between the nitrous line and the fuel line to prevent damage to the fuel line.

Completed install of an Edelbrock Nitrous kit.

Nitrous solenoid and plumbing.

Fuel solenoid and fuel plumbing.

This is the throttle position switch that activates the nitrous system at wide open throttle.

This is the master solenoid  for the fuel and nitrous solenoids.

Nitrous switches now take the place of a desert disintegrated air conditioning vent.

Nitrous system is armed.

Nitrous system is activated.

A simple riser was constructed from an A/C ducting reducer that can be found at any hardware store.

This is the Performer Series Edelbrock Fuel Pump.  Has very stable fuel pressure and is ideal for nitrous applications.  No fuel pressure regulator is required.

Two new Jeg's racing seats were installed with G-Force 5-point harnesses.  Interestingly, the stock seat belt mounting locations from the front and back seats were perfect for mounting the new seat belts and went in with ease.  The seats took slightly more finesse.

When running nitrous it is critical that consistent fuel pressure be maintained. For this reason we installed an electric fuel pump near the tank.  This particular fuel pump makes 6.5 psi (adjustable) and at free flow moves 120 gph.
